SOUTHERN CHARMED
by Melanie Jacobson

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I absolutely loved this book! It was exactly what I needed this week! The southern flair was SO FUN-- I adored the relationship between Lila Mae and Max, but what really captured my heart was the side story of Kiana--BRILLIANT WRITING!
Snatch up a copy of this book for a fantastic read!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lila Mae Guidry is a Southern girl through and through. As a fourth-generation Latter-day Saint in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she's proud of her heritage as both a Southerner and a Saint—and she doesn't take kindly to people who disparage either. Ten years ago, Max Archer was just that kind of jerk. As the mission president's son, Max spent his entire three years mocking the South . . . and teenage Lila. After Max's family moved away, Lila forgot about her sworn enemy. Almost.

When a new job brings a grown-up Max back to Baton Rouge, Lila is less than thrilled with his reappearance, especially since everyone seems intent on throwing her together with this old adversary. Yet fight as she may, Lila soon realizes resistance is futile—their connection is undeniable. Max embodies everything she wants in a man—except perhaps the most important thing her life is rooted in the city she loves, but his dreams are bigger than Baton Rouge. With such mismatched visions of the future, Max and Lila are faced with a life-altering decision: jeopardize their aspirations or risk losing love.

by Melanie Jacobson

Handsome twenty-eight-year-old Will Hallerman has finally had enough of the dating world—he’s ready to find a wife and settle down.

This announcement is catastrophic in Hannah Becker’s world. After knowing Will her entire life and adoring him from afar since junior high school, she realizes her chance at love with him is in grave danger.

Hannah’s problem? To Will, she will never be more than his best friend’s little sister. Determined to open his eyes to her charms, Hannah sets out to sabotage Will’s wife hunt by placing nightmare dates in his path and taking his search on a wild goose chase.

Her plan is risky, but she’s willing to take a chance to catch the eye of her soul mate.

Despite her crazy schemes, nothing seems to be working. Hannah can’t help but wonder if it’s time to set aside this childhood crush—to move on and settle down herself.

Publisher: Covenant Communications
Genre: Romance

3 of my FAVORITE AUTHORS all in 1 FABULOUS BOOK!

They say a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but as mistaken identities abound, three heroines will put this age-old adage to the test! Showcasing a trio of LDS fiction’s finest authors, Love Unexpected: A Storybook Romance is a heartwarming collection of short stories that begs the question: can true love really conquer all?

Storybook Romance by Melanie Jacobson —New York City book editor Ellie Hanover has discovered a groundbreaking manuscript that may be just what she needs to save her job. But when her anonymous correspondence with the author begins to develop into more than a professional relationship, Ellie is left wondering if her real find is actually Mr. Right. LOVE this story line! So FABULOUS! A supposedly one-time letter turns into an online correspondence and takes the story into a wonderland of romance. FANTASTIC TWIST at the end! WOW!

He Loves Me Not by Jennifer K. Clark —When Kenedee spies her boss leaving flowers on her desk, she’s swept into a whirlwind of infatuation. If only he didn’t have a girlfriend . . . Undeterred, the young woman enlists in the scheme her employer’s brother has put in motion for the company’s sake in hopes that she can win over the man of her dreams. But even foolproof plans can go awry. So what happens when a friend tries to help a friend? Mistaken identity and misplaced feelings abound...GREAT story! A whirlwind of emotions... work troubles and finally love in all the right directions.

Fools of Us All by Julie Daines —The course of true love is never smooth, as Jane discovers when a case of mistaken identity results in a date with the man she’s admired from afar for years. But she knows all too well that masquerading as her twin sister can only go on for so long before the truth comes out. I LOVED the subtle humor in this story! I also loved the raw emotions of taking care of a loved one and wanting to have hope, but fearing to do so. A WONDERFUL story that left me wanting more!

DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!
LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. IT!

Jennifer K. Clark~ I live on a small farm in Wellington Utah with my husband and my three kids. We raise several unusual breeds of animals a few of which include a Zebu, Emus, and miniature donkeys amongst others. I am also an artist and love working on big projects. A little old fashioned, I like to use my spare time to write using my quill and ink, make wax seals, and bind my own books by hand. I love to read and spend most of my time writing. Every day is an adventure.

Julie Daines was born in Boston, Massachusetts, raised in Utah, and educated around the world. As a high school student, she spent her summers hiking the deserts of southern Utah, drawing inspiration from the various plants and animals to write children’s stories and legends. She studied Zoology and Secondary Education at Brigham Young University, paying her way through college by performing live reptile demonstrations at the university’s life science museum. She spent eighteen months living in London where she studied and fell in love with English Literature, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the fellow who ran the kebab store around the corner. After editing for other authors, she decided to take up writing again--this time in the young adult genre. She feels qualified to write for teens because, as a young adult, she mastered the art of drama. Oh, and she has some skulking around the house.

The detailed imagery in this book is AMAZING!
And so is the humor!

Your heart will also shatter along with the characters in a few places...

It's all in here...love, romance, humor, anger, frustration, hope, healing, etc...

Lia Carswell used to go by the name of Leandra Tate, a famous New York artist.

But when her paintings were sold to the highest bidder at any cost Lia realized they were only buying the paintings to claim they had one, not because they understood it.

And on top of that her marriage was failing...

So she ran from it all.

Back home in Salt Lake City Lia is a waitress at a local diner and is helping her sister raise her niece, Chloe.

Life seems to be content until they realize that the best school for Chloe to attend will take thousands of dollars.

How can they can come up with that kind of money?

Lia will need to paint again.

But can Lia put her soul back onto a canvas?

And what about Aidan and Griff?

This book will leave you sighing at the end!

WHAT A FUN READ!
Sweet, Romantic, Wonderful!

One fun thing about this book is that it is written by 3 different authors....a GREAT way to be introduced to an author you might not have read before.

Each author has her own story and her own style. They all meld together around a Chinese Restaurant and the fortunes that come out of the fortune cookies :)

MIS-FORTNE is a story about the waitress Emma. She doesn't believe in the magic of the fortune cookies and refuses to open one...that is until one is accidentally cracked open in her hand and everyone demands that she reads the fortune. "Look around, love is trying to catch you" it says.

LOVE, NOT LUCK is about Lucy who everyone call Lucky Lucy...until she opens her cookie to read "True love is for the brave, not the lucky." And as a streak of bad luck starts to surround her she finds herself relying on Carter, who has been even more unlucky than she is.

TAKEOUT is Stella's story. She has left everything behind to come take care of her sick mother. She has taken over the jewelry store and is caught off guard when Evan and his daughter walk in to her shop. What does her fortune cookie say"  "Do the thing you fear and love is certain."

You will LOVE this one!

Author: Melanie Jacobson
Release Date: 2013
Publisher: Covenant Communications, Inc.
Genre: Contemporary Romance

This book was a very FUN read!

Melanie Jacobson is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors...Her books never disappoint me!

Light-hearted fun, tender feelings, romance-in-the-air...
It's all there!

This book has a very fun storyline...

A "Mormon" version of The Bachelor...aired as a web-series...in hopes of getting more advertising for Louisa's new firm...

But also to "reform the Huntington Beach dating scene."

Mormon men seem to be afraid to date.
This show sent one Mormon man on a "date" with 21 wonderful Mormon women to show that dating is:
still in...
still fun...
still wanted...

Just like the show The Bachelor...these couples will be followed with a camera and given the "how's it going" interviews.

But when the shows "star" gets into a relationship BEFORE the show airs, Louisa has to turn to her ex-boyfriend Nick to be the bachelor...fun twist!

And as you know... in the end there will be only one rose... who will the lucky girl be?

If you love contemporary romance you will love Second Chances!
