A FAMILIAR FEAR
by Kathi Oram Peterson

Ex-FBI agent Riley Scott lives each day with the scars of her former career. After the murder of her husband and the recent attempt on her own life by the Russian mafia, her heart is irrevocably broken. Agate Island seems like the perfect place to begin building a new future for herself and her teenage son, yet even before the ferry docks at their new home, Riley realizes there will be no escape for her. There, on the boat, is mafia boss Maksimillian Petruso—the man who took everything from her. The man she killed.

Matthew Taggart knows who Riley is and understands her reaction to his resemblance to Maksimillian Petruso. But Matthew is nothing like his estranged criminal father. So far, he has been able to hide from that evil world. However, he's afraid Riley's appearance on the island may lead his family's mafia connections to his doorstep. After all, she is the agent who took down his father. Matthew needs to leave town. Fast. Unfortunately, when the family wants to find him, there is nowhere he can hide. Now he and Riley are thrown together in a dangerous connection, and learning to trust each other is their only hope of survival.

by Kathi Oram Peterson

Give me a good suspense/action story and I am one happy woman.
This book is FANTASTIC! Kept my attention from the very first page. LOVED IT! I cannot even image the things our brave military members go through...and it often doesn't end on the battlefield.
This is a MUST-READ PHENOMENAL BOOK!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lieutenant Commander Cooper Lane has so much to live for. With a loving husband and beautiful baby girl waiting for her back home, she is anxious to finish her mission in Afghanistan and return to her family. But in a split second, her world shatters. Her helicopter is going down in that hostile country, and there will be no survivors.
Four Years Later . . . On a covert mission in an Afghan village, Navy SEAL Axe Talbot finds something no one ever expected: Lieutenant Cooper Lane—alive. Cooper survived the crash that killed her team and has been hiding behind enemy lines for four years. It’s the woman he’s been looking for and dreaming about for so long.
After her rescue, Cooper is not sure she can survive the reality waiting for her back home—when she disappeared and was pronounced dead, her husband married her best friend. Cooper is lost, but her troubles are just beginning. In one horror-filled moment, her former husband is murdered before her eyes, and Cooper becomes the prime suspect. Now she must embark on one last mission to clear her name. And there are only two people she trusts to help her: her father and Axe, the SEAL who rescued her.
Cooper and Axe take off, and together the makeshift team uncovers a trail of mysterious deaths that leads to unimaginable danger.
WOW! This book title is PERFECT!
There are SO MANY lies and deceptions going on in the story line...Mostly to protect someone's life, but there are some CRAZY mixed-up lies in there too :)
Tara Kelly is a famed children's author...She is also a witness to her aunt's murder.
Witness protection is for criminals and so Tara opts for just plain hiding.
Finding herself on an Idaho ranch, Tara must change her name, change her location, change her occupation, and change her marital status.
Joseph is willing to help Tara...but when asked why she is there the first thing that comes to his mouth is "she is my fiancée."
Now they are stuck playing the part.
But when cattle are found shot and brake lines are cut and a kidnapping takes place, Tara and Joseph start to realize...
"The killer will stop at nothing to find her,
and Joseph will do anything to protect her—
even if it means unraveling secrets that will
have devastating consequences for them both."
A very fun mystery/suspense with a love triangle thrown into the mix.
LOVED this one!
A GREAT READ FOR THE UPCOMING WEEKEND :)
About the Author
I grew up a small town in NE Idaho. I love my hometown where the drug store still has a soda fountain and where people wave hello to strangers.
I’ve worked on my writing for years and years and years. Along the way I won a few contests, earned my BA in English and finally started selling my books.
I’m very humbled to see my manuscripts turn into actual novels.
I LOVE reading books by this author!
She is so good at dropping hints...
The only problems is she drops hints leading you to believe that this one character did it....
BUT then...she drops hints leading you to believe it was another character who did it....
You HAVE to keep turning the pages...because you now don't know who did it and you are dying to find out!
Also along the way she drops little touches of romance which just makes the story more intriguing!
About the Author:
Kathi Oram Peterson loves to write edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense and young adult time travel. The constant thread she sews in both genres is faith in a higher power.
She works hard to entertain her readers with clean, uplifting stories. Her path to publication took a detour as she raised three children. During those years, Kathi read all the how-to books on writing that she could find. When her last child graduated high school, she went back to college and earned her BA in English. She was fortunate to do an internship for the University of Utah’s Continuum magazine, where she learned to edit and write articles in the “real” world.
Shortly after graduation, she was hired by a curriculum publisher to write and edit concept and biography books for children. She worked shoulder to shoulder with artists and computer programmers as she watched her children’s stories come to life. But the desire to write full-length novels called to her.
Leaving the workforce, she devoted herself to writing fiction. You can contact Kathi through her website, or her blog,
This book has so many twist and turns you don't know "who did it" until the very end...SO GOOD!
A small town with a mystery... and the one being framed must help clear her name.
A little romance along the way makes it all the better.
