Runabouts is a story about friends having fun together, as well as dealing with unpleasant situations. Sunny is a very good friend and tries to make sure that his friends are not taken advantage of by bullies. He also shows us how we can make choices for our own behavior even if others don't want to change their behavior. Sunny could leave Sharky stuck in the mud or he could choose to help him. What would you do? Enjoy the fun of zooming through the water and feeling the water spray over your face. I hope it will make you anxious to enjoy the water and warm weather just like Sunny.

ABOUT P.J. JENKINS

I’m married and have two daughters, and seven and a half grandchildren. We enjoy spending time with our grandchildren and love to take them for rides on our boat. We are lucky to live in Michigan where lakes are plentiful as well as beautiful. I taught elementary school for over 35 years. Reading books is such a joy for children. Life often brings problems dealing with different kinds of people, and children need to now that they choose how they want to behave regardless of what others do. I hope they can see other options as well as enjoy a fun story.

What an AMAZINGLY FUN story!
EVERYONE needs to read it!
Full of FUN, FANTASY, and FANTASTIC REVENGE on a bully!
Fun for ALL ages!

What would bullies do if every prank they pulled came around like a boomerang?

That is exactly what happens to Sully and his gang.

If they hit someone in the face then something ends up hitting them in their face.

If they make someone's lunch tray drop and splatter then something happens and their lunch tray drops from their hands and splatters all over them.

WHO or WHAT could be causing all of this?

It is "the one" who has been sent to "restore balance" before something dreadfully awful happens...And his name is KARMACK!

LOVED this story!
WOW!

Remember ~
What goes around, comes around...
Make it GOOD and SHARE this BOOK!

J. C. Whyte has graciously offered to do an
eBook giveaway for MY readers :)

10 FUN things to know about the Author
1.) I'm a vegetarian who hates most vegetables

2.) Yet I love mashed potatoes and would live exclusively on them if potatoes weren't so high in calories

3.) I've always loved to write, but for the first half of my life didn't much care for reading (now I do!)

4.) I write fiction, but usually read non-fiction (go figure)

5.) I have two sons although I prayed for a daughter during each pregnancy -- but now I have a granddaughter (yay!)

6.) My first career was in hospital public relations, even though I don't believe in visiting doctors on a regular basis (blah!)

7.) I also used to be a travel agent who seldom traveled; lost that career due to 9-11

8.) I graduated from law school and passed the Bar at age 56, but didn't practice law for more than a few years

9.) I'm a dyed-in-the-wool feminist and insisted on keeping my maiden name; no worries -- I just celebrated my 40th wedding anniversary

10.) As you can see from this list, my husband is a saint for putting up with all my contrariness!

Other interesting things About the Author
J.C. Whyte discovered her love for writing at the age of eleven when her 6th grade teacher told the class to write a poem about a sport. She knew her classmates would probably choose a popular sport like baseball or football, so J.C. chose to write a funny poem about golf. To her surprise, the teacher really loved it and encouraged J.C. to continue writing. So she did.

Then that summer, students were told to choose 26 books from a reading list, read them and write a book report on each. BLAH! J.C. wanted to enjoy her summer, not spend it reading. Back then, she was a very slow reader and didn’t much enjoy the experience. Plus, kids didn’t have the fun books which are available today. But her wise teacher told J.C. she could write 26 stories instead of reading them. That was genius. J.C. didn’t actually write a full 26 stories, but she wrote at least one which made her teacher laugh out loud in class. And the teacher gave her an “A” on her summer reading assignment. J.C. never forgot that wise and wonderful teacher who let the budding author play to her strengths.

So as a result, J.C. knew at an early age she wanted to become a professional writer. Yet when she reached college, she also understood that writing stories seldom paid the bills. So she got her degrees in Journalism and Communications Management. Then for many years she channeled her creative energies into the field of Public Relations.

Marriage, kids, and several more degrees and occupations later (including stints as a travel agent and paralegal), J.C. entered law school – mostly because of the challenge of writing creative arguments for the court. But while in law school, she became a columnist for the student newsletter, writing humorous pieces on the strange and quirky life of a law student. She was thrilled when one of these articles was chosen for publication in The National Jurist, a magazine distributed to law students throughout the USA.

But after graduating and passing the Bar, J.C. realized within a few years that creative writing was still what made her heart sing. So now, as a grandma, she’s returned to writing for children. And with the publication of Karmack, J.C. has come full circle, back to where her writing journey truly began.

Rocky RoadRocky Road
Book Blast

It was supposed to be a girls’ weekend in scenic St. George, Utah that would include shopping, trying out the local cuisine, and participating in a breast cancer fundraiser.

The fact that one of the organizers of the fundraising event, a local doctor, disappeared two months ago was not supposed to be Sadie’s problem.

In fact, she refuses to participate in the grassroots investigation her friend Caro, and Caro’s cousin, Tess, have put together prior to her arrival.

But then she meets the ex-wife of the missing doctor. How could she not ask a few questions . . . that lead to a few more questions . . . that lead to a small town and yet even more questions.

Before she knows it, Sadie is in the middle of yet another murder investigation and trying to piece together a convoluted trail of good intentions, hidden motivations, and philanthropy turned big business.

Some FUN Things to Know About the Author
Here are some bits of trivia about me and my life--some may be of interest. Some, maybe not so much. But all of these combined are what make me, me.

I am the oldest of eleven children, born to parents who were either saints or crazy, maybe both. They thought we were all capable of being professional athletes or broadway stars. They weren't right, of course, but they did help us have self-confidence.

I am married to a funny, clever, handsome and hardworking man. He was an excellent choice that I'm thankful for every day!

I am mother to four clever and good-looking children--two boys and two girls. They're not perfect, but probably a lot better than I deserved.

Through the years I've been a student, a teacher, a secretary, a clothing designer and seamstress, a wedding cake maker, a crafter, a scrapbooker, a cook, a housekeeper (alright, this skill I'm still working on) a homework helper (until they pass me in math, somewhere around the third grade), and a calm and ladylike fan at my children's sporting events.

I've been writing since Jr. High, when I was hired by a county newspaper to do a Happenings column about our little town of about 300 people. I got paid by the word so every week I called every family in town and got their news. It wasn't high-brow journalism but the column earned me a little spending money.

On our way to Aspen, CO, my sister, my two oldest kids and I were hit head-on by a drunk driver in a stolen car. Although we suffered serious injuries, we all survived.

Candy isn't worth eating unless it's chocolate. (See's are the best.) I love to experiment in the kitchen and make delicious treats and gourmet meals.

When I was seven years old, I fell and broke my arm...on a dirtclod.

When I was a child, my family bought and renovated an old school-house. It was a wonderful place to live in spite of the bats that flew over our heads at night.

I'm driven to create. I've never been without a project or two (or twelve).

I've been told that my naturally curly hair doesn't get longer, it gets bigger.

I love The Amazing Race. When faced with something daunting (like parasailing in Hawaii, triking down a ridiculously long hill in Alaska, trying to find a difficult address, or catching up on my laundry,) I imagine it as a task on The Amazing Race.

Nothing makes me happier than being with family and friends eating good food, sharing good conversation and a few laughs. When I'm with smart and funny people, I could stay there for hours.

I felt so proud for the team!
For when it came down to it all they worked together to accomplish the goal!

What would you do for a team member?
What workouts have taken you to your limit?

Pretty Darn Funny and Deseret Book have graciously offered a GIVEAWAY in connection with this series....

This week's giveaway~

The Power of Starting Something Stupid by Richie Norton

Book Description
What if the smartest people in the world understand something that the rest of us don't? (They do.) What if they know that in order to achieve success, they will sometimes have to do things that others may initially perceive as stupid? The fact of the matter is that the smartest people in the world don't run from stupid, they lean into it (in a smart way).

In The Power of Starting Something Stupid, Richie Norton redefines stupid as we know it, demonstrating that life-changing ideas are often tragically mislabeled stupid. What if the key to success, creativity, and fulfillment in your life lies in the potential of those stupid ideas? Persephone the Daring continues the series that turns Greek mythology heroes into modern day teenagers going to school and learning all about life and friendship.

In Greek mythology Persephone (pur-SEF-uh-nee) is kidnapped by Hades, the god of the underworld. Her mother, the goddess of the harvest, braves a rescue to bring Persephone home.

Hades agrees to let Persephone go home for one half of the year during spring and summer when flowers bloom. The half of the year where Persephone is with Hades the world knows the barren seasons of fall and winter.

In the Goddess Girls series Persephone is a typical teen-age girl with friends and dates and school.
She is know as the "dependable one" according to the Teen Scrollazine poll.

When a girl's sleep-over truth or dare game is played Persephone will be given the dare to get the autograph of mortal rock star Orpheus.

Will she be the dependable one or can she turn into the daring one?

With the help of backup singer Eurydice, Persephone tries to be a little more daring.

Amazing writing!
Fun story!
Really good series!

OTHER BOOKS IN THE GODDESS GIRLS SERIES

Author Joan Holub I graduated from college in Texas with a fine arts degree, and then freelanced as an art director at a graphic design firm for eight years. I dreamed of working in children's books, so I moved to New York City and became associate art director in Scholastic trade books, where I designed books for children and worked with editors and illustrators. It was a great job. I illustrated my first published children's book in 1992 and soon began illustrating full time. I began completing manuscripts and mailing them out to publishers in the early 1990s. In 1996, I sold my first two manuscripts -- Boo Who? A Spooky Lift-the-Flap Book (Scholastic) and Pen Pals (Grosset & Dunlap). Yippee! Now I write full time and have written and/or illustrated over 130 children's books. Creating books that entertain, inform, and interest children (and me) is a fabulous job that I truly love.
