The Husband Maker

Charlotte’s a girl with nicknames. She may not love being called Charles or Chuck, but the hardest nickname to take is the one she was given in college, the one that’s followed her now for too many years. They call her “the husband maker” and sadly, it fits. Every guy she's dated since high school has gone on to marry the next girl they date. Not two or three girls down the road. The very next one.

Is she doing something wrong or is she just cursed?
When Kyle Aldsworth enters the picture and sweeps her off her feet, Charlotte begins to hope that maybe she's not destined to be single forever. A senator’s son with political aspirations of his own, Kyle's wealthy, handsome, and in need of a wife. Will Charlotte be disappointed yet again, or will she finally be able to make a husband for herself? This book started out as a FUN CHICK-LIT and I LOVED IT! Then a twist was presented--a deeper thought---and I LOVED IT EVEN MORE!

The Match Maker

It’s been six months since Charlotte and Kyle broke up, and the Husband Maker strikes again. Kyle is officially engaged, while Charlotte is still nursing a broken heart.

In an effort to get Charlotte out of her rut, she and her best friend decide it’s time for some good old-fashioned matchmaking. While Aleena arranges for Charlotte to meet up with a handsome Scottish tourist, Charlotte gets her two best friends together. But when sparks start to fly between Aleena and Angus, Charlotte is left feeling more alone that ever--at least until the charming Scotsman becomes more than just a safe, rebound guy and teaches her that maybe, just maybe, she can dare to open her heart again. A SWEET BOOK! SO WORTH YOUR TIME!

The Wife Maker

Charlotte has spent years as the husband maker, sending every guy she dates off to enjoy marital bliss with the next girl he dates. But things have now changed, and she's determined to use her husband-maker abilities one last time--on herself. And she finally knows exactly who she wants.

Angus has loved Charlotte since they were teenagers, but he's tired of waiting for her to realize how good they could be. She's broken his heart one too many times, and it's time to move on with his life. Maybe a position halfway across the country will be just what he needs to get over her. But when Charlotte won't let him go without a fight, Angus has to decide if he's willing to let her in again or if she's too late. What if it is all for nothing and Charlotte is left with... nothing? LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. THIS. BOOK! SO WONDERFULLY WRITTEN! A TRUE MUST-READ!

This series is FABULOUS!

This is a FANTASTICALLY FUN series!

You have seen Charlotte send every guy she has dated into the wedded bliss of another girls arms in The Husband Maker.

And you have traveled with her to Scotland in The Match Maker.

Now watch Charlotte as she pulls all her strength together in one last effort to be The Wife Maker...

This time SHE will be the wife.

Only problem?

She wants Angus...

But Angus is tired of waiting for her love and has moved to Kansas City in order to be rid of Charlotte.

His heart cannot take another let down.

This is Flynn's advice for her:

Excerpt
My phone rang before six the next morning. Who would call that early on a Sunday? I rubbed my bleary eyes and looked at the screen. The number was unfamiliar and a strange configuration. I almost shut it off, but on a hunch, I answered the call.

“Charlotte, it’s Flynn.”

“Flynn? Is everything okay?”

“Aye. I think we should talk. Turn on your computer and call me.”

Ten minutes later, Flynn appeared on the screen of my laptop.

“What’s going on?”

“I think you should move to Kansas City.”

I laughed. “What are you talking about?”

“Don’t laugh. I’m not jokin’.”

“I can’t move to Kansas City. My job’s here. My family’s here. And I don’t think Angus would even want me to.”

“Ah, he’d say he doesn’t want ya to, but I’d wager that what he wants and what he says he wants are two different things.”

I shook my head. “You’re crazy. This is what you wanted me to call you for at this hour of the morning?”

“Aye. And hear me out. I’ve been chewin’ on this all day.”

I was touched that he’d been trying to figure out a way to help me, but this idea was insane. “I’m listening.”

“You say you’ll wait for him to come back.” I nodded. “What about him? You might be willing to wait for ten years, but what about Angus? He’ll be meeting new people. He won’t be waiting around. If ya want to cook a chicken, ya have to put him in while the water’s boilin’.”

I snickered. “I don’t even know what that means, Flynn.”

“Sure ya do. If ya wait ‘til the water’s all cooled down, good luck cooking the bird. Right now the water’s boilin’.”

“No it’s not. He doesn’t want anything to do with me.”

“That’s ’cause the water’s boilin’. If it weren’t, he’d talk to ya all day long. He’s just tryin’ not to get burned.”

There was an absurd and comforting logic to what he was saying. “Keep going.”

“There’s not much more to say. Move to Kansas City.”

“That’s easier said than done, Flynn.”

“Tell me this. What needs more attention? The things in San Francisco? Or the thing in Kansas City?”

I didn’t answer him. I didn’t know what to say.

“Charlotte, give him a grand gesture. Show ’im he’s more important than the things you’ve left behind.”

“Wow. I should never have answered the phone this morning.”

We laughed. “Think about it. It might work.”

“It might not. And then I’ll be two thousand miles away from my family and I’ll have given up the best job in the world and . . . It’s all so scary.”

“But you’re brave. And if it doesn’t work out, you can go back.”

“I thought you were my friend.”

Flynn didn’t say anything right away. He just smiled. When he finally spoke, his voice was soft. “I am.”

Should Charlotte make the move?
Will Angus take her back?
What if it is all for nothing and she is left with... nothing?

This book started out as a FUN CHICK-LIT and I LOVED IT!
Then a twist was presented--a deeper thought---and I LOVED IT EVEN MORE!

Charlotte has the worst luck...some say it might just be coincidence...

But EVERY boyfriend she has EVER HAD goes on to marry the VERY NEXT GIRL he dates.

And people have started calling her "the husband maker."

People have even started joking that she should date so-and-so, not that they will match up but so HE can finally get married to any girl AFTER Charlotte.

When Charlotte's friend jokes with her about setting her up with Kyle Aldsworth, Charlotte gives in and says OK.

But when Charlotte sees Kyle and realizes he is so much more than her friend made him out to be...

Charlotte is hopeful that maybe this will finally be THE ONE FOR HER!

Some FUN Things to Know About the Author
Here are some bits of trivia about me and my life--some may be of interest. Some, maybe not so much. But all of these combined are what make me, me.

I am the oldest of eleven children, born to parents who were either saints or crazy, maybe both. They thought we were all capable of being professional athletes or broadway stars. They weren't right, of course, but they did help us have self-confidence.

I am married to a funny, clever, handsome and hardworking man. He was an excellent choice that I'm thankful for every day!

I am mother to four clever and good-looking children--two boys and two girls. They're not perfect, but probably a lot better than I deserved.

Through the years I've been a student, a teacher, a secretary, a clothing designer and seamstress, a wedding cake maker, a crafter, a scrapbooker, a cook, a housekeeper (alright, this skill I'm still working on) a homework helper (until they pass me in math, somewhere around the third grade), and a calm and ladylike fan at my children's sporting events.

I've been writing since Jr. High, when I was hired by a county newspaper to do a Happenings column about our little town of about 300 people. I got paid by the word so every week I called every family in town and got their news. It wasn't high-brow journalism but the column earned me a little spending money.

On our way to Aspen, CO, my sister, my two oldest kids and I were hit head-on by a drunk driver in a stolen car. Although we suffered serious injuries, we all survived.

Candy isn't worth eating unless it's chocolate. (See's are the best.) I love to experiment in the kitchen and make delicious treats and gourmet meals.

When I was seven years old, I fell and broke my arm...on a dirtclod.

When I was a child, my family bought and renovated an old school-house. It was a wonderful place to live in spite of the bats that flew over our heads at night.

I'm driven to create. I've never been without a project or two (or twelve).

I've been told that my naturally curly hair doesn't get longer, it gets bigger.

I love The Amazing Race. When faced with something daunting (like parasailing in Hawaii, triking down a ridiculously long hill in Alaska, trying to find a difficult address, or catching up on my laundry,) I imagine it as a task on The Amazing Race.

Nothing makes me happier than being with family and friends eating good food, sharing good conversation and a few laughs. When I'm with smart and funny people, I could stay there for hours.
