ALL THAT MAKES LIFE BRIGHT
by Josi S. Kilpack

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am really liking these "Proper Romance" stories Josi S. Kilpack is putting out-- very interesting to read the love stories of some of the more famous people from our history. I was so excited to learn the love story of Harriet Beecher Stowe. I didn't know much about her and have such a greater appreciation now.
I really liked this book! Wonderfully written!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When Harriet Beecher marries Calvin Stowe on January 6, 1836, she is sure her future will be filled romance, eventually a family, and continued opportunities to develop as a writer. Her husband Calvin is completely supportive and said she must be a literary woman. Harriet's sister, Catharine, worries she will lose her identity in marriage, but she is determined to preserve her independent spirit. Deeply religious, she strongly believes God has called her to fulfill the roles of wife and writer and will help her accomplish everything she was born to do.

Two months after her wedding Harriet discovers she is pregnant just as Calvin prepares to leave for a European business trip. Alone, Harriet is overwhelmed-being a wife has been harder than she thought and being an expectant mother feels like living another woman's life. Knowing that part of Calvin still cherishes the memory of his first wife, Harriet begins to question her place in her husband's heart and yearns for his return; his letters are no substitute for having him home. When Calvin returns, however, nothing seems to have turned out as planned.

Struggling to balance the demands of motherhood with her passion for writing and her desire to be a part of the social change in Ohio, Harriet works to build a life with her beloved Calvin despite differing temperaments and expectations.

Can their love endure, especially after "I do"? Can she recapture the first blush of new love and find the true beauty in her marriage?

EVEN THIS
by Emily Belle Freeman

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I LOVE Emily Freeman's works and read everything from her!
I was really intrigued with the thought on the cover --
"GETTING TO THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN
TRUST GOD WITH ANYTHING"
Are you like me???
Do you want to be in charge of your life?
Do you want to be in control of how it should play out?
Are you afraid to trust for fear of what He will do with your life?
If so-- then you, like me, need this book!
Learn to "LET GO" and "HAVE FAITH"
LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. THIS BOOK!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In Even This, Emily Belle Freeman shares her own deeply personal experiences of feeling forgotten by God—from the fear of abandonment in a dark hospital room to the desperation that followed months of unanswered prayers. In a moment of honesty, she found herself asking the question she had been afraid to consider: “Where is God in this?”

Through biblical insight, genuine realness, and beautiful prose, Emily will help you discover how to:

  • Diminish the power of doubt by coming to understand why the place of deepest asking is where the believing begins.
  • Stop letting fear dictate the depth of your belief through daily reflections that will restore your confidence in God.
  • Let go of your need to control by discovering what is holding you back from being completely vulnerable with God.

DOUBLE EAGLE DOUBLE CROSS
by M. R. Durbin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever found a rare item in your ancestors belongings?
Did you wonder where it came from?
Would you be willing to go on the chase to find out?
Even if it meant uncovering a secret that could cause your demise???
A truly fun book full of mystery, secret codes,
traditions, and unique treasures.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After an unexpectedly thrilling summer with his grandfather, Oregon State student Charley Sawyer is ready to catch his breath at his late parents' Oregon beach home. Hoping for some rest and relaxation, Charley is met instead by devastation: the house has been ransacked.

In his inventory of the damage, Charley stumbles across the item the trespasser must have been after, the only thing that seems out of place: a mysterious key. And when he learns what it unlocks, Charley is drawn into yet another adventure with a ragtag group more than willing to help.

Mac Bowman, the brainy and beautiful anthropology student who joined Charley in his summer escapade, is thrilled when she is presented with the opportunity to conduct research in Oregon. Maybe a little time together will allow the pair to explore their feelings for one another. But when she arrives, she is disturbed by what she finds: Charley has disappeared without a trace.

As Charley and Mac each work to unravel their mysteries, their searches collide dramatically. Only one thing is clear: the moment he found the key, Charley unwittingly opened the door to a long-held secret—one that could cost him his life. . . .

THE HOWLIDAY INN
by Zoey Kane and Claire Kane

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I adore Zoey and Claire-- they act more like twins than mother and daughter-- so fun! They get involved in the most crazy excursions ever-- so fun to read! They always come through with finding out what is really going on. CUTE READ! Perfect for an October read!
I highly suggest you get the whole series.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Time for another vacation for Zoey and her daughter Claire. This go-around it’s off to a retreat deep in the mountains, nicknamed The Howliday Inn. Nothing, however, can ever be a true vacation for the Kanes, especially when welcomed by a crazy man chasing down their car—howling.

A cult convinced they're wolves is bent on keeping tourists—especially a couple of savvy sleuths—away from their nearby campsite. Seems harmless enough, until evidence suddenly points to outsiders being killed by a beast of the night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have read all three of these and LOVE THEM!
Betsy Brannon Green is one of my favorite authors.
I read everything she puts out.
FUN - FABULOUS - FAVORITES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Although author Betsy Brannon Green was born in Salt Lake City, she has spent most of her life in the South. Her writing and her life have been strongly influenced by the town of Headland, Alabama, and the many generous gracious people who live there.
The Eureka Series 3-Book Bundleincludes:

    • Never Look Back— Shortly after Sydney Lovell graduates from high school, Craig Cochran, a handsome returned missionary, sweeps her off her feet and they are soon married in the temple. Almost immediately, Sydney gets pregnant and Craig begins school to become a doctor. Life is going exactly as planned, unfolding in utter bliss.
      The years fly by in a blur as Sydney raises their three children while Craig completes medical School, his internship, and residency. Then the bottom falls out when Craig asks Sydney for a divorce.
      While working as a waitress and struggling to make ends meet, Sydney meets Cole Brackner, a friendly, attractive, single man, and over time a friendship develops. But Cole's life is complicated as well. He is under pressure to sell his cattle ranch to a developer, and when he resists, his tires are slashed, cattle are poisoned, and horrible rumors start to circulate. And even as Sydney helps Cole unravel these mysteries, the two find themselves in the middle of a dangerous battle against powerful forces dead set on making sure that the truth never sees the light of day.
      Betsy Green, the best-selling author of Hearts in Hiding, weaves a tale of intrigue, romance, and southern charm.
    • Don’t Close Your Eyes— In the quiet town of Eureka, Georgia, a woman is murdered. On that same night, Helen Tyler arrives in town. She’s a kind, soft-spoken woman who owns a handgun and refuses to give out her telephone number.
      Matt Clevenger, the county sheriff, finds a white Bible on the end of the murdered woman’s bed, and learns that another body was found in exactly the same way just two weeks earlier.
      With little more than this scant but bizarre evidence, Matt must uncover the secret identity of a killer. Helen Tyler must hide a secret past. Together, they embark on a terrifying journey that brings them ever closer to the answers to this deadly mystery, answers that will change both of their lives forever.
    • Foul Play— Atlanta is buzzing with excitement over the formation of a glamorous new enterprise that promises huge rewards to those at the top. Billie Murphy, a public relations representative and part-time fiction writer, has been watching from the sidelines. But not for long. Soon forces beyond her control will draw her into a deadly game of fraud and deceit initiated by those who will stop at nothing-even murder-to win. To survive, Billie must trust a man whose reassuring exterior hides a devastating past. But time is running out. . .
      Foul Play, by master storyteller Betsy Brannon Green, is an emotionally charged romantic thriller that will keep you glued to each suspense-filled page.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Young private investigator Jayden Spaulding has cracked his share of tough cases, but nothing like this. When stunning professional basketball player Nadia Fairchild walks through his door, her story seems simple enough: two days ago, her mother disappeared along with a member of the women’s college basketball team she coached.
    Jayden and Nadia delve into a baffling maze of motive and opportunity with a lengthy list of possible suspects. As they work together amid their growing attraction to one another, the unlikely duo seems no closer to discovering the truth.
    Then the threats begin. Soon, the pair begins to suspect that this case is much more complicated than a simple disappearance—they have unwittingly stumbled on a conspiracy of corruption, greed, and murder far more deadly than they ever imagined.
    Others are also searching for the missing women, and they will eliminate anyone who stands in their way . . .
    LIES JANE AUSTIN TOLD ME
    by Julie Wright
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!
    So fun! Remarkable writing!

    Adored that Emma kept taking advice from Jane Austen but then would throw the book in the garbage can -- only to pick it up again :)

    Very intriguing backgrounds of the characters made the book real and kept my interest throughout the entire book.

    YOU WILL WANT A COPY OF THIS ONE FOR SURE!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Ever since Emma read Pride and Prejudice, she's been in love with Mr. Darcy and has regarded Jane Austen as the expert on all things romantic. So naturally when Emma falls for Blake Hampton and he invites her home to meet his parents, she is positive an engagement is in her future. After all, Blake is a single man in possession of a good fortune, and thus must be in want of a wife.
    But when it turns out that what Blake actually wants is more of a hook-up than a honeymoon, Emma is hurt, betrayed, and furious. She throws herself deeper into her work as CMO of Kinetics, the fastest growing gym franchise in the nation. She loves her work, and she's good at it, which is why she bristles when her boss brings in a consultant to help her spearhead the new facilities on the East Coast. Her frustration turns to shock when that consultant turns out to be Blake's younger brother, Lucas.
    Emma is determined not to fall for Lucas, but as she gets to know him, she realizes that Lucas is nothing like his brother. He is kind and attentive and spends his time and money caring for the less fortunate.
    What she can't understand is why Lucas continues to try to push her back into Blake's arms when he so clearly has fallen as hard for her as she has fallen for him.
    Realizing that her love life is as complicated as anything Jane Austen could have dreamed up, Emma must find a way to let Blake know that it's time for him to let her go and to let Lucas know it's time for him to love her back.
