Author: Wendy Ulrich
Release Date: January 2014
Publisher: Deseret Book
Genre: Inspiration

This book is INCREDIBLE!

Things I would NEVER think of doing to increase happiness

Here is her list:

*Don't worry about your weaknesses
*Don't try to get motivated to exercise
*Stop hoping to find friends
*Don't try to be happy
*Celebrate failures
*Don't try to get help with your problems
*Don't endure to the end

The information about this list and the things Wendy includes I believe to be TRUE!

It makes SO MUCH SENSE!

Some of my favorite quotes:

"Allow the feeling of gratitude to surround your problems."

"Live is to be enjoyed, not just endured."

Let the habits of happiness begin...

Genre: Inspiration

This book was written just for ME!
I need this book right now!

For I am in a 'middle'~
I am struggling with this 'middle'~
I am anxious to get out of this 'middle'~

I LEARNED SO MUCH FROM THIS BOOK!

LOVED this question:
"Have you ever noticed that when people talk abut their trials in a public setting, they tend to focus on what happened at the end? They talk about the miracle, the promise, the way it all worked out."

It's so TRUE!

"It isn't often that people talk about what happened in the MIDDLE of the trial!"

This book gives us HOPE!

Personal stories and scriptures are taught to bring us lessons that WILL HELP us through the "middle moments of our lives."

Two quotes I really needed to hear:

"Sometimes He refines us in ways we might not have wanted
because he needs to use us in ways we might not have thought."

"When you can't see God's hand, trust His heart."

If you or someone you know is going through a "middle" this book will bring you/them perspective and peace.

About the Author
Emily Freeman took her first creative writing class in high school and has loved writing ever since. She finds great joy in studying the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Her deep love of the scriptures comes from a desire to find their application in everyday life. She is the author of several books, including The Ten Virgins; 21 Days Closer to Christ; and The Promise of Enough. There is nothing Emily enjoys more for breakfast than a bowl of vanilla ice cream, raspberries, and chocolate chips. Other favorites include parades, vacations, firework displays, and going for a long walk with a good friend. Emily and her husband, Greg, live in Lehi, Utah, with their four children, whom she adores.

I LOVE Time Out Classic books!

Talks given at Time Out for Women have been preserved in a sweet, gift-size book.

We learn so many things at home like:

Using scriptures and stories John Bytheway expounds these things to take on a spiritual learning.

Forgiveness...we all want it....

So why do we struggle to extend it?

Filled with tender stories about those who have mastered the art of forgiving...even for just one time.

This book will show you that forgiveness is in the miracle of the atonement..."this is what Christ can do that we cannot do on our own."

Forgiveness is more about our relationship with the Lord than it is with the one who hurt us.

A beautiful book to be read and re-read.
A beautiful book to be cherished and shared.

What Would a Holy Woman Do?

Another great Time Out Classics

What started out as an experiment with 6 friends turned into so much more as minds were changed, energy was increased and hearts were softened.

For just 3 days women were asked to take the "holy woman challenge."

They were to choose just ONE activity a day and ask "what would a holy woman do?"

After three days each woman reported her surprising findings...

And at the end of the book there are a couple of journal pages to report your 3 days of being a holy woman.

So how would a holy woman:
start her day
read to a child
exercise
talk
shop
eat
pray
do laundry
clean the house
handle conflict
serve a neighbor
respond to criticism
etc.

Take the challenge :)

The Faith Experiment

I LOVE these little Time Out Classics books.

They are short, sweet, and powerful!

They can quickly give you a boost of endurance to take just one more step towards the goal.

So many wonderful messages are given at Time Out for Women....and now these messages are captured in some wonderful books to be read, pondered, and prayed about.

Laurel Christensen is an AMAZING woman!
This book is her story of losing weight, running a half marathon and in the process learning to have faith....

She in turn teaches us  how to:
Pray with Faith
Think with Faith
Live with Faith

I LOVED LOVED LOVED her thought:
"Don't be the ONE THING standing in YOUR way!"

"Are you ready to try your own faith experiment?"

Tug of War

I LOVE Mary Ellen Edmunds (MEE)

I love hearing her speak!
I love reading her books!

This book is actually taken from one of her presentations at Time Out For Women.

Here on earth we really only have 2 choices...
Babylon OR Zion
It is that simple...not easy...but simple.

Filled with great stories this book helps us remember that it all comes down to our "agency" and the "desires of our hearts."

Perfect little book for anyone.
