Release Date: November 2014
Publisher: Durham Crest Books
Genre: Romance

I love all things spy and espionage so of course I LOVE this series!
It gives you suspense and romance and drama and humor all in the right proportions!

This book veers a little from the normal spy book and gives you more of an in-depth look into the personal life of the spy while they are still trying to stake-out the bad guys.

It lets you see the balancing act a spy must walk at all times in trying to be honest, yet not let out any secrets that might ultimately hurt themselves or the one they are telling...VERY INTRIGUING!

CIA operative Talia Reynolds works in Canada...

She holds down her CIA job AND her cover job...which leaves little time for anything else.

After watching most of her families' marriages fall apart the last thing Talia wants to do is fall in love.

But when she sees Danny her heart takes its own path.

Danny Fluker is an aerospace engineer (rocket scientist :) and is in Canada to start over without all the baggage from his mother or his ex-fiancĂ© and he too has no romantic notions for the future.

But then he sees Talia and is unexpectedly drawn to her...

FUN SCENES AWAIT YOU as you watch Talia and Danny try to date, try to break-up, try to be friends, try to date others, try to date again.

You also have Talia breaking off dates because she has to "work" and some suspenseful moments when her two lives try to cross paths...YOU WILL LOVE THIS!

Each has secrets they are keeping and each ends up telling more than they ever have before.

Can this friendship blossom into something more OR will each keep their hearts securely locked away?

And can Talia keep her mind on the case of trying to find the "Russian spymaster" without causing an "international catastrophe" OR will this mean "death to more than just her budding relationship?"

FUN. FUN. FUN. BOOK!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES!

About the Author
An award-winning author, Jordan McCollum can’t resist a story where good defeats evil and true love conquers all. My first novels, I, Spy and Spy for a Spy, were both 2013 Whitney Award Finalists. Two prequel novellas, Spy Noon and Mr. Nice Spy, are also available. In 2014, I also published the last prequel, a full-length novel called Spy by Night, and the last novel in the series, Tomorrow We Spy. Keep up with my (insane!) publication schedule by subscribing to my newsletter.

In addition to fiction, I love teaching and writing about writing. I have nonfiction books out on Character Arcs and Character Sympathy. At writers conferences, I’ve taught (packed, much to my surprise) classes on character arcs, gesture crutches, structural self-editing and more. In 2015, I’m offering online writing courses through my site, so be sure to join my newsletter to hear about them before they fill up! Or if you’d rather just improve your writing craft with in-depth tips, you can subscribe to my blog.

From 2011 to 2014, I served as the Education Director for Authors Incognito, an online writers’ community for attendees of the LDStorymakers writing conference. In this position, I coordinated monthly writing classes for our over 400 members, as well as occasional workshops and insane-goal-achieving drives. I have also taught classes on point of view, revision and plotting. From May to August of 2013, I was also acting Executive Director.

Some of my previous manuscripts have won first place in the 2010 and 2011LDStorymakers Conference First chapter contests, mystery/suspense category, and also have been named a finalist in the first round of the 2011 Sandy Contest from Crested Butte Writers, mystery/suspense/thriller category.

In my day job, I coerce people to do things they don’t want to, elicit information and generally manipulate the people I love most—I’m a mom. I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. A graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, I earned a Bachelor’s in American Studies and Linguistics with minors in Spanish and English. (It’s not as hard as it sounds. ) When I catch a spare minute amidst being a wife, mother and writer, my hobbies include reading, blogging, knitting, and mysteries. I have three four kids, play three instruments and know three languages, and hope to add more to all of those counts—eventually. (Well . . . we’ll see about more kids.)

The Other Side of Quiet
by Tara C. Allred

Mrs. Childs' Creative Writing students are encouraged to keep private journals for self-expression.

But when clues from a murder case cause police authorities to confiscate the students’ private journals,

writing intended to be private is no longer,

words meant to liberate now condemn,

and an innocent writing project, meant to empower students,

as well as rescue Mrs. Childs from her own personal tragedy,

now open deep conflicts within the class.

GABRIEL'S DAUGHTERS

by Janet Kay Jensen

Zina Martin leaves the polygamous hamlet of Gabriel’s Landing, Utah, a with thirteen dollars and eighty-four cents in her pocket, and a few clothes stashed in a duffel bag.

She is sixteen, promised as a plural wife to a man twice her age who already has four wives and children, some of whom are older than she.

Zina is also pregnant with her high school teacher’s child. She is picked up by Mo and Callie, an African-American couple who drive a semi, headed for Chicago. The next day she miscarries and Buck and Callie take her to a clinic for treatment.

In Chicago, Zina soon gets a job as a waitress and is eventualy promoted to assistant chef. A jealous co-worker and the boss’s wife attack her one morning and cut her long hair, the one remnant of her previous life.

She moves to Minneapolis for a new job and meets Simon Benning, a gay man who needs a roommate.

One day she types her family name into an internet search and finds her mother’s obituary, nearly eight years old.

Simon urges her to reconnect with her family. She learns that her physician sister Louisa is married and living in rural Hawthorn Valley, Kentucky.

Zina goes to Kentucky and hides in their barn, afraid to face them, but she can’t leave, either, after she sees them. Dr. Andy McBride, Louisa’s husband, confronts Zina in his barn and treats her for pneumonia. Her reunion with Louisa is joyful.

Zina meets Andy’s friend, orthopedic surgeon James Christensen, and a slow, sweet courtship begins, with eccentric healer Miss Carolina playing matchmaker.

A few months later Miss Carolina dies in her sleep, and, surprisingly, leaves her property to Zina, who is now a wealthy woman.

Amy, the youngest of the Martins at home in Gabriel’s Landing, marries her childhood sweetheart.

Blissfully happy for the first few months, she is astounded when her husband takes a new wife as directed by the Council of Brothers, without her knowledge or approval.

She flees to Kentucky, to be with Louisa. It is there she meets her sister Zina for the first time.

Zina has Miss Carolina’s cabin refurbished for Amy, who gives birth to her first child with Zina and Jim in attendance. Amy returns home to give her plural marriage a chance.

Zina finally reconciles with her father, Joshua, who has long blamed himself for her disappearance.

She becomes involved with organizations that assist women and children who have left polygamy. She builds Miss Carolina’s Bakery in Salt Lake City, a business that will support four families.

Over time her feelings for James grow stronger. On ribbon-cutting day, Zina is thrilled to open her new business, but her happiness isn’t complete until she sees James in the crowd.

When she waves to him we see a diamond ring on her left hand. Someone asks James where his home is. “Wherever she is,” he says, smiling at Zina. “That’s home for me.”

Publisher: Covenant Communications
Genre: Romance

3 of my FAVORITE AUTHORS all in 1 FABULOUS BOOK!

They say a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but as mistaken identities abound, three heroines will put this age-old adage to the test! Showcasing a trio of LDS fiction’s finest authors, Love Unexpected: A Storybook Romance is a heartwarming collection of short stories that begs the question: can true love really conquer all?

Storybook Romance by Melanie Jacobson —New York City book editor Ellie Hanover has discovered a groundbreaking manuscript that may be just what she needs to save her job. But when her anonymous correspondence with the author begins to develop into more than a professional relationship, Ellie is left wondering if her real find is actually Mr. Right. LOVE this story line! So FABULOUS! A supposedly one-time letter turns into an online correspondence and takes the story into a wonderland of romance. FANTASTIC TWIST at the end! WOW!

He Loves Me Not by Jennifer K. Clark —When Kenedee spies her boss leaving flowers on her desk, she’s swept into a whirlwind of infatuation. If only he didn’t have a girlfriend . . . Undeterred, the young woman enlists in the scheme her employer’s brother has put in motion for the company’s sake in hopes that she can win over the man of her dreams. But even foolproof plans can go awry. So what happens when a friend tries to help a friend? Mistaken identity and misplaced feelings abound...GREAT story! A whirlwind of emotions... work troubles and finally love in all the right directions.

Fools of Us All by Julie Daines —The course of true love is never smooth, as Jane discovers when a case of mistaken identity results in a date with the man she’s admired from afar for years. But she knows all too well that masquerading as her twin sister can only go on for so long before the truth comes out. I LOVED the subtle humor in this story! I also loved the raw emotions of taking care of a loved one and wanting to have hope, but fearing to do so. A WONDERFUL story that left me wanting more!

Melanie Bennett Jacobson is an avid reader, amateur cook, and champion shopper. She consumes astonishing amounts of chocolate, chick flicks, and romance novels. After meeting her husband online, she is now living happily married in Southern California with her growing family and a series of doomed houseplants. Melanie is a former English teacher and a popular speaker who loves to laugh and make others laugh. In her down time (ha!), she writes romantic comedies for Covenant and maintains her humorous slice-of-life blog.

Jennifer K. Clark~ I live on a small farm in Wellington Utah with my husband and my three kids. We raise several unusual breeds of animals a few of which include a Zebu, Emus, and miniature donkeys amongst others. I am also an artist and love working on big projects. A little old fashioned, I like to use my spare time to write using my quill and ink, make wax seals, and bind my own books by hand. I love to read and spend most of my time writing. Every day is an adventure.

Julie Daines was born in Boston, Massachusetts, raised in Utah, and educated around the world. As a high school student, she spent her summers hiking the deserts of southern Utah, drawing inspiration from the various plants and animals to write children’s stories and legends. She studied Zoology and Secondary Education at Brigham Young University, paying her way through college by performing live reptile demonstrations at the university’s life science museum. She spent eighteen months living in London where she studied and fell in love with English Literature, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the fellow who ran the kebab store around the corner. After editing for other authors, she decided to take up writing again--this time in the young adult genre. She feels qualified to write for teens because, as a young adult, she mastered the art of drama. Oh, and she has some skulking around the house.

THIS MOVIE IS PHENOMENAL!

The internet is a great tool...

A great tool for learning information or passing on information.

But what happens when two girls hack an account to spread lies telling everyone that another girl is responsible.

Such is what happens to Ashley in this story.

  • After two girls cruelly impersonate her online in a "reverse cyber bullying" plot, Ashley's reputation is ruined and she and her mother flee a growing threat to their lives. Starting over at a new school, romantic interests and the poignant lessons from an eccentric history teacher draw them out of seclusion until they realize confronting a hurtful past is essential to ensure a brighter future.

A riveting story!
Everyone should see this film!

Lies spread faster than the truth AND we need to be so careful what we say online!

Praise
"Dorine White delivers twists and turns to the plot that will keep you turning the pages." ~ Melanie Mason, author of the YA historical, The Line That Divides

"The Awakening is a clever blend of folklore and fantasy, perfect for fans of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. A furiously fun read!" ~ Laurisa Reyes, author of the YA thriller, Contact

Excerpt
Something was wrong. The short hairs on the back of Kyler’s neck stood up, straight and tall. He glanced toward the dense forest that bordered his aunt Martha’s property. Large evergreens crowded every inch of land not tilled for farming. For some reason the familiar-looking trees loomed dark and foreboding, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched. He narrowed his eyes, looking for the source of his troubles, but nothing surfaced. With a shake of his head, he returned to weeding the garden, taking comfort in the familiar yet annoying task.

Under the bottom leaf, he spotted a caterpillar, its fuzzy little body inching its way toward a morning feast. Kyler pinched the culprit between his thumb and index finger and popped it. Green slime oozed down his fingers, slick and gooey. He wiped his fingers down the front of his shirt, and a greenish-yellow smudge joined other stains of dirt and grime.

Rays of sunlight filtered through the sky, dancing off Kyler’s sandy-blond hair and hitting the garden with welcome light. His blue eyes squinted as he glanced up into the brightness. He flexed his arm muscles, feeling tendons stretch and skin pull. Farmwork was dull, but it had its advantages. He was well built for his age, and he could tell by the way the girls in the village eyed him that they felt so, too.

DorineAs he moved on to the next plant, he felt that odd sensation again, as if something was watching him, and not in a friendly way. Goose bumps broke out on his arms, bumpy and rough. He whipped around to surprise whatever was watching, ready to pounce, but again he saw nothing. He decided to finish his work, and fast.

About the Author
I was raised on a farm surrounded by the rolling hills of southern Idaho and have made my home in southern Utah among the beautiful red mountains and desert heat. I have been happily married for 42 years and am the mother of six daughters and have five wonderful grandchildren .

After my family began to leave the nest, I decided it was time to finish what I had started long ago. I decided to go back to college and get a degree. It had been 30 years since I had been to college and it was one of the most frightening things I had ever done. I had to learn how to study and take tests all over again. The first day of college, I was a nervous wreck and wondered if I could do this, but with the support of my husband and children I was able to graduate. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and Music at Southern Utah University and received the Outstanding Non-Traditional Student Award for the College of Performing Arts in 2002. During the meantime, I cut a CD named "Romantic Love Songs of Sigmund Romberg and Victor Herbert."

I have enjoyed writing short stories and novels for several years but it took a lot of courage to begin submitting them. After "Melinda and the Wild West" was published, I entered it in the Reader Views Literary Contest and my book was chosen as a Semi-Finalist in the "Reviewers Choice Awards 2007." It was one of the top ten out of hundreds of other entries. I have written eleven books; five are historical sweet romances and four are mystery adventures. I also have two non-fiction e-books.

I travel throughout the United States, teaching people to write their family history and autobiography. I have traveled to seventeen states and given over 400 workshops. I am the author of six historical sweet romances, four mystery adventure novels, a children's book, and a new cozy mystery series. All of my books are family friendly.

In the Midst of Thee

Author: Glenn Rawson
Release Date: 2009
Publisher: Harmony River
Genre: Inspiration

I had the unique opportunity to work one-on-one with Glenn Rawson at a book signing he did...and as the time grew to a close Glenn graciously offered me this book.

Little did he know that I was a book reviewer/blogger...

AND...little did he know that I was in one of those "life-spots" that we often find ourselves in where we wonder "why" and "how" and "how come?"

And little did he know that I had been praying for answers...

This book brought those answers!

This book "is a collection of stories from the lives of real people and real events. They are ordinary people and their challenges. Handling life as it came to them."

Reading of their struggles and how they were "comforted, instructed, and inspired." I too found hope for my situation.

I SO WISH I could share every story with you...for they are ALL WONDERFUL!

But time and space and copyright laws of course only allow me to share just one story :)

A friend of Glenn's was driving down the Interstate from Idaho to Utah and as she drove she began to ponder the Savior's commandment to 'love one another.' Could she really get through this "infamous construction zone with its equally infamous traffic" with love? An idea struck! Instead of thinking "stupid driver," she would look at them and say "I love you." One by one as each driver passed she filled her heart with love for them. "The remarkable thing about his experience was the more she said 'I love you' the more she really felt it." She had the most fun, and the best drive, and the feelings of love only increased as she joined her family at the end of her trip.

This book is filled with almost 100 equally inspiring stories...

You will read of the time Glenn got kidney stones, or how he used a glass of orange juice to teach the effects of that 'one objectionable scene' in movies.

You will learn of "Enos" and the "Mama's Boys" and "The Widow's Mite."

You will understand that "Life Isn't Fair" but that you can have fun while being "Whitewashed."

But most of all you will come to know that though life may be hard and you may be asked to do things you just don't want to do...

There is a loving Heavenly Father who stands by your side ready and willing and able to help.

Glenn Rawson grew up on a ranch. His love of the outdoors carries to this day. It isn’t unusual to find him outside in his free time, running, bird watching, hiking, or just taking a deep breath. Professionally, he has been a teacher for nearly 30 years, and that brought him to telling stories. He borrowed this philosophy for telling stories from Abraham Lincoln who said, “They say I tell a great many stories. I reckon I do, but I have learned from long experience that plain people…are more easily influenced through the medium of a broad and humorous illustration than in any other way.”

He loves people and especially his family. Glenn and his wife Debbie have seven children and two grandchildren.

I LOVED IT!

Amelia Moore is a missing persons specialist...and she has been hired to find a missing brother.

While doing research Amelia finds out that the brother was headed to the island of Bali, Indonesia.

Calling on her friend and business partner, Rick Bonito, Amelia follows the clues.

Amelia has made it very clear that their relationship is strictly professional.

But the island has a way of weaving romance into even ordinary daily activities...let alone a missing person case.

Join Amelia and Rick as they read journal entries, interview contacts, eat great food, find joy in the culture, visit Hindu temples, take hikes and treks, and try to find the elusive missing man...

All while trying to stay one step ahead of the stalking guys in the black suits.

A FUN, FUN READ!
I will DEFINITELY be reading more from this author!
