About the Author
Christina Dymock was once at a dinner party where her husband was teasing her about the frosting-to-cupcake ratio on her dessert. The woman sitting across from them sniffed her delicate nose and said, "If my husband gave me a hard time about my frosting I'd quit baking. That'd show him." To which Christina's husband replied while pointing at his speechless wife, "Try to stop her!"

Christina divides her time between the kitchen and her computer and books and her family of six. (Naturally, the family gets the biggest share.) Because she reads everything, she also feels compelled to write in several genres.

The Fortune Café
a novel in three parts

MIS-FORTUNE: Emma, a waitress at The Fortune Café will do anything to avoid opening a fortune cookie. Each fortune is rumored to somehow magically come true. Being a girl grounded in reality, she doesn’t have time for that kind of nonsense. But when trying to prevent a food fight at the café, Emma accidently cracks open a fortune cookie: “Look around, love is trying to catch you.” If there is one thing that Harrison, her former best friend in high school is good at, it’s catching her unaware.

LOVE, NOT LUCK: Lucy has always been lucky . . . until her parents meet her fiancé’s parents at a disastrous lunch at The Fortune Café, and she breaks her lucky jade necklace. Even worse, her fortune cookie reveals that “True love is for the brave, not the lucky.” How is she supposed to read that? She’s always considered it lucky how she met her fiancé. But after breaking her necklace, Lucy’s luck takes a dive. And when her fiancé dumps her, the only person she can turn to is Carter, the unluckiest guy she knows.

JulieWTAKEOUT: Stella is content in her new life of taking over her mom’s jewelry shop. No more boyfriend to worry about, and as long as she stays busy, she doesn’t have to dwell on her non-existent love life. When Evan comes into the shop with his young daughter, Stella is charmed. But she is reluctant to complicate her straightforward life, so when she reads her fortune after ordering takeout from The Fortune Café, she completely ignores it. After all, how can a fortune as vague as “Do the thing you fear and love is certain,” apply to her?

Book Details
Author: Shannon Hill
Release Date: February 2014
Genre: Inspiration

This book is WAY BEYOND AMAZING!
A book of SIMPLE WORDS to "shape, create, interpret, and enjoy the reality of our lives."

This book starts with a VERY FUNNY story of a person who very much needs to buy strawberries and toilet paper ...two simple things.

And as they are emptying the bags from the grocery store they realize...

You guessed it...they FORGOT to get the strawberries and the toilet paper.

We, as humans, need reminders...post-it notes if you will.

But not only on the simple grocery shopping things.

How about the BIG THINGS in life.

I know for myself that I get so caught up in the little things in life I forget that simple words can help "to create happiness for me."

This book gives those words.

This book IS a book of reminders!

100 reminders in fact, here are 5 of these incredible reminders:

*I WILL think about the person (or people) I love the most, and I will treat myself with the same level of loving kindness and forgiveness that I show them.

*I WILL allow myself to discard something that hasn't been helpful to me in more than a year.

*I WILL smile with my whole body.

*I WILL receive a pleasant surprise.

*I WILL enjoy more abundance in my life--and I will be thankful each and every time.

BEAUTIFUL pictures sprinkled throughout!

Grab this book and take a look!
Focus on just ONE reminder each day!
And see if you are not happier at the end of each page.

SO. SO. SO. GOOD!

LOVED IT!

About the Author
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was born in Utah, raised in Washington, married in Oregon, and now spend my perfectly temperate summers and very long winters in the mountains of Wyoming with my brilliant educator husband and four amazingly loud children. Really, I don't know where they get it because I didn't raise my voice until my second son was born. The child was a happy tornado who thought "No" meant "Oh what an angel". I enjoy cooking, gardening, camping, travel, all kinds of music, and my friends and family.

I have always loved reading and writing, as so many writers do, and it's always been a part of me. I was naturally shy, but found I could say exactly what I meant if I wrote it down. At times, my only outlet was a pen and paper. I pursued an Art Major at Brigham Young University, with a minor in either Ballroom Dance or English. I was one of those people who had no idea who they were at that age.

In 1992, I married a scholar/football player and we started our family. I was at home while my husband taught, coached, and furthered his endless education, as so many educators do.
Life hit, rocked, and rolled us, we managed to survive. My family was my life.

I've been blessed with a huge support group inside and outside my family. Writers are the most unselfish, funny, supportive, insane people I know. Which is why we bleed onto paper and then send it out into the world for all to judge.

I am learning everything I can. I've found a passion for a lifetime. I would have never thought. Life is a surprise. But I finally know who I am. I'll do my part.

I recently told a friend, "Life can be really short, so if you can swing it, do the big things."

I meant every word.

The Lost Teachings of Jesus on the Sacred Place of Women

Book Details
Author: Alonzo Gaskill
Release Date: March 2014
Publisher: Cedar Fort, Inc.
Genre: Gospel Teachings

"The Old Testament and the New Testament make reference to scriptural texts that apparently were authoritative within the Church during the fist century but are not in our Bible today. Even the Book of Mormon suggests that scriptural texts have been lost or gone unrecorded. In the book of Ether we learn that Moroni did not include 'the hundredth part'."

So could it be possible that a Russian journalist, Nicholas Notovitch, found an ancient text spoken by Jesus and hid over the centuries in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery?

I believe it can~

The text tells about the sacred place of women.

And then Alonzo Gaskill has added summaries, insights, and teachings from modern-day Church leaders.

Here is a very small sample~

Verse Sixteen states:
"The wife and the mother are inappreciable treasures given unto you by God. They are the fairest ornaments of existence, and of them shall be born all the inhabitants of the world."

Summary~
"Jesus reminds each of us that women have a divine gift--that of creating life."

Counsel to Men~
"A man who treats poorly his wife, mother, or any other woman makes a loud, declarative statement about his true feeling toward the 'fairer sex.'"

Counsel to Women~
"Sometimes women are unrecognizable as treasure because the men in their lives are inattentive or ungrateful. Sometimes, however, they are inappreciable as treasure because they choose to do so little for their husbands or sons that they manifest no treasurable attributes."

Here is another very small sample~

Verse Nineteen states:
"Here [through the women in your life] you will forget your sorrows and your failures, and you will recover the lost energy necessary to enable you to help your neighbor."

Summary~
"The best of lives still encounter opposition...But through the love and interaction of a good wife or mother, a boy or man can overcome these trials."

Counsel to Men & Children~
"The Lord...encourages His sons, in their dark hours, to turn to the wives and mothers in their lives. In a man's hour of desperation or despair, a good woman can often help him to see things 'as they really are.'"

Counsel to Women~
"Helaman's two thousand strippling warriors (said) 'We do not doubt our mothers knew it.' Such is the influence of a good woman upon her sons and husband.

"President Spencer W. Kimball stated,
'There can be no heaven without righteous women.'"

This book reminds us of the need to put women back into their sacred place.

So insightful!
So many things to ponder!
A PHENOMENAL book!

One Little Match

Book Details
Author: Thomas S. Monson
Release Date: March 2014
Publisher: Shadow Mountain
Genre: Children's Picture

One of the things we most love about President Thomas S. Monson is his willingness to beautifully share personal experiences with us.

Here he tells us of a time when as a little boy he made a poor decision.

In his mind he thought it would work out so perfectly.

Just use one little match to burn the weeds that would take forever to pull by hand.

He thought that it would somehow just go out when the circle was big enough for his friends to have a campfire.

But in reality it was not the best of plans.

He knew he was doing a wrong by using the match.

Now so many years later he easily could have kept this part of his life from us.

Instead he shares with us to teach us the lesson of obedience.

"Rules and laws are created to keep us safe."

Beautifully told!
Beautifully illustrated!
A book for the whole family!

Cherish the Children

Book Details
Author: Shelly Locke
Release Date: September 2010
Publisher: Digital Legend Press
Genre: Inspiration

There is a softness and a reverence that comes with reading this book.

An awe that can only be felt with the heart while the mind reads the words.

A sacredness that comes with the understanding that these words are true.

"Productive family life is the basis for all measurement for those who are blessed to have a family. Raising a family is a sacred stewardship, designed to teach us, the governing principles of heaven and the kingdom of God. The service and sacrifice rendered in a family prepare us to live in the presence of God. It is by service and sacrifice that we become like Him, more than in any other way."

This is a message...
A call...
Even a plea...

To cherish the children.

Love them.
Nurture them.
Come home to them.

"It is up to us to save our children, to gather them in our arms of love and protect them form the world. We can only do this with them in our watchful care. By this and through this, shall generations be saved by our choices."

Beautifully written.
Words to live by.
Our children do need to be cherished.

About the Author
Shelly Locke is a woman of great works, whose efforts in behalf of women of the world have saved lives, fed souls and clothed the poor in dignity and grace.

She oversees the foundation that makes this all possible, that brings relief to many, as she speaks throughout the world, as a representative of Motherhood, speaking freely to parliaments and kings. She now moves forth to secure the status of the Mothers of the world, as vital contributors to society at large, bringing forth the recognition of the importance of protecting Motherhood in all its dimensions, as the fabric of every nation.

In 2012 Shelly visited Anambra State Nigeria, bringing much needed relief in food, medicine and educational supplies to those devastated by the Anambra Deluge, a disastrous flood of over 20 feet, displacing an estimated 76,000 from their homes, decimating villages and uprooting the “Fertile Crescent” of Nigeria, the agricultural belt which feeds that region of the country.

While there, she spoke to the Commissioner of Women, the press, the local women’s leadership including a regional queen and members of the House of Representatives in behalf of protecting the vital role of Mothers. In Nigeria, filming was completed on her international documentary on the importance of Motherhood, scheduled to premier in Sydney Australia in 2013 and have its American debut at the International Year of the Family Celebration at the UN in 2014.

“Mother Locke” has made an impress on the many countries where she has spoken in behalf of the stability nations enjoy when they support, strengthen and protect Mothers in their sphere. In 2011, at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, she was selected as the recipient of the prestigious “Outstanding Service Award In the Area of Government and Community” for her devotion to serving these two entities, by the Women’s Information Network (The Win Online).

Shelly is currently serving as the UN NGO Representative and International Ambassador for the Howard Center on Family, Religion and Society.Shelly is an author, a former Young Mother of the Year for Utah and holds a very special place in the hearts of those who honor and revere Motherhood as the stabilizing force for every culture, clime and nation.

If you only read the first few pages you will be richly taught about the enabling power of the Atonement...

"I suspect that Church members are much more familiar with the nature of the redeeming and cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ...But we also need to appreciate that the Lord desires, through His Atonement and by the power of the Holy Ghost, to live in us--not only to direct us by also to empower us."
