LOVE, KENNEDY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This movie is INCREDIBLE!
A story of a young girl's battle--yet filled with hope and love.
Some of our favorite scenes:
Multiple scenes of Kennedy giving hugs
Kennedy driving
Kennedy waiting up for her sister
The Church Dance -- included below
Her dad taking her for rides in his big truck
Where she is asked if she has any challenges
Hot boys-- especially Jaden -- Jaden -- Jaden
Kennedy cheerleading
Final farewell-- especially with the first 3 girls
And we could go on and on!
We were honored to have director and writer T.C. Christensen talk to us after the movie.
Also Kennedy's real father and brother were there to answer questions. How tremendous to have them share their story with us.
Someone said that this movie was up against the blockbuster movie Wonder Woman-- but we quickly all agreed that Kennedy is the REAL wonder woman.
Her story is so inspiring!
Go see the movie! Or get the DVD with it becomes available!
Kennedy still has so much to give with her story.
This movie will have you giggling and laughing one minute and then feeling the Christmas spirit the next-- Fun antics of a family full of boys, rival enemies, and a Christmas tradition all come together to show you that sometimes being a hero means you let go of the need to be right! This movie will definitely be a family favorite!
LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. IT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Even with Christmas around the corner, for the Buckley boys, payback almost always wins out over brotherly love. That is until the four brothers join forces against a common adversary—the Hagbarts—the meanest bullies at their middle school.

But now Mom has decided that the Buckley family is going to Elve the Hagbarts this year for Christmas.

Eleven-year-old Matthew can hardly stand it. By day the Hagbarts torture the Buckley brothers into submission, and by night the Buckleys secretly deliver Christmas treats and gifts to their sworn enemies.

Soon the war of wits escalates to an incredible scheme designed to get the ultimate revenge on the Hagbarts.

But now that Matthew has been learning that he's supposed to do good to those who hate him, what will he do when a little push becomes a great big shove?

The Christmas Project is a heartwarming comedy the whole family will love.

Freetown

Caught in the middle of a brutal civil war, six Liberian missionaries in Monrovia flee the widespread violence of their native country.

Their destination: Freetown, Sierra Leone.

With the help of local Church leader Phillip Abubakar (Henry Adofo), the missionaries make the difficult journey only to have their troubles compounded by a rebel fighter bent on killing one of
their own.

Based on true events, Freetown is a thrilling and inspiring story of hope and survival.

My Review
I absolutely LOVE movies based on true accounts!

And when it is portrayed as well as this one is you really feel the emotions of the people involved!

As you watch this show you will realized that we take SO MUCH for granted--

I cannot even imagine having to flee for your safety--possibly even your life.

And to watch people gunned down right in front of you--

And then to watch the faith of these missionaries-- they just wanted somewhere they could teach.

So many miracles took place for them to make it to Freetown that at one point they realized that they could doubt no longer-- the Lord would continue to bless them.

I was intrigued that even on the run these missionaries still found ways to share the gospel.

On the back car window there is a scripture reference of Mark 9:24

When I looked it up this is what I found:

"And straightway the father of the child cried out,
and said with tears, Lord, I believe;
help thou mine unbelief."

This movie theme shows just that-- no matter how bad it gets we just have to keep moving forward and have hope in the future.

A PHENOMENAL FILM!
SO WORTH SEEING!
I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND IT!

THE COKEVILLE MIRACLE

My Review
When I first saw the movie trailer I knew that this was a film I wanted to see. I love true stories and was really drawn to this one.

I live in Logan, UT and as we are not that far from Cokeville, WY, I have started hearing some mixed feelings about this film.

I was lucky enough to talk to a few of the survivors tonight and they all told me--"yes, it is hard to re-live this day through this film, yet we know our story needs to be shared--for a miracle did happen that day."

The movie was incredible! So touching! And very well portrayed.

The emotions are strong as you see it played out before you and as you hear of all the facts.

And then the strength of the children and their belief in prayer and as they tell of the angels who were with them that day....wow...

(me with survivors Lori Nate Conger and Brad Shane Nate)
Doris Young is quoted in the movie telling the children that they "will tell their children and their grandchildren of this day."

What a strange thing to say to a room full of children with the threat of a bomb to go off or to be shot.

Yet that prophecy has come true.

I now add my voice in sharing their story.

They were and are very brave and I honor them with this blog post.

Synopsis
From T.C. Christensen comes The Cokeville Miracle, the remarkable true story of a town facing a terrible tragedy, and the Sheriff’s investigator who struggles with his faith as he gathers evidence that defies easy explanation.

Cokeville Wyoming, a town of just over 500 people that sits near the Utah-Idaho border, is not known for much beyond it’s strong family values, but in 1986 Cokeville made national headlines when a madman and his wife entered the elementary school with guns and bomb. They gathered over 100 children and teachers into a small room, and made a demand: $200 million dollars for the lives of the children—but then the bomb went off…

The Cokeville Miracle is not just the story of a hostage crisis, or a terror attack on American soil. It is not just the story of a bomb that could have destroyed an entire generation, and ripped a town apart. The Cokeville Miracle is about what happened instead. How did a bomb that should have leveled the room take only two lives that day, the madman and his wife? Each child, each adult who made it out of that room has a story to tell. Follow the Sheriff’s investigator Ron Hartley as he pieces together the evidence, including stories of prayer and divine intervention from multiple witnesses. Gather the evidence and decide for yourself.

Do you see coincidence,
or do you see miracles?

Starring: Jasen Wade
Genre: True Miracles
Directed By: T.C. Christensen

A DAY OF DIGITAL SILENCE

Out of respect for the many people who had to live through that terrible day, a day of digital silence has been suggested on the anniversary of the bombing.

If you'd like to join on May 16, please turn off your digital devices and spend at least three hours connecting with the people you love, whether that is your children, your parents, your grandparents, your friends, or your ancestors through genealogy work.

If you are willing to share your experiences about this day of silence please use  #seemiracles.
