Author Interview
How long did it take you to write this book?
I finished the first draft of the manuscript in about 8 months.

Why did you decided to write a book about family councils?
Christopher Robbins, Familius editor, asked me to write this book. At first I felt a little overwhelmed by the task, but as I got into it, I had a wonderful time remembering all the funny things, the problems, and challenges our family and other's in my counseling practice faced as they raised their children. I could feel something greater than myself helping me write this book. So, as I got into the manuscript, I began to have a great time. It is one of the most fun writing projects I've done in a long time.

What is the full title of the book?
The book is entitled, Family Talk, How to Organize Family Meetings, to Solve Problems and Strengthen Relationships

What does the back cover have on it?

  1. Thanks for the review. I am so glad I learned about family councils when our kids were growing up. It made a difference in our lives through good times and hard ones - like when I found our son and the neighbor boy lighting each others hair on fire. (Yes, that example is in the book) We laugh about it now, but it wasn't funny at the time. Read and enjoy. I hope the book makes a difference in your family life.
