DAUGHTER OF ISHMAEL
by Diane Stringam Tolley

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love it when authors write about scripture stories. It brings the story to life and helps me envision it better. I have never thought of this story from the point of the daughters of Ishmael-- very intriguing! Extremely thought-provoking! You will never look at this story the same again-- Wonderfully written!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Growing up around prophets and prophecies, Hannah and her sisters are excited to be betrothed to sons of Lehi and to journey to the promised land.

But now with her people dividing, Hannah must choose between her faith and her family. Should she follow Nephi again, or stay with her husband, Lemuel, and her son in sin and misery?

This compelling novel tells the familiar scripture story from an illuminating new perspective.

SNOWMAN
by Diane Stringam Tolley

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I absolutely LOVE snowmen and knew I just had to read this one!
What an amazing tale of a man who loves with all of his heart--
And when the tough times came to him he found a way to turn it around in order to serve someone else-- a whole town even :)
A very heart-warming story amongst the chill of winter!
BEFORE THE SONG-- THERE WAS THE STORY
Driving a busload of happy, young scouters on rain-slick roads John Benjamin Frosst is faced suddenly with the unimaginable. In a fraction of a moment, he makes a decision, selflessly offering his life in exchange for the lives of innocents. Now confronted with the knowledge that the comfortable existence he had expected is in tatters, Ben realizes that, instead of doing the serving he loves, he must now humbly receive it from others.
Hampered by this new reality, the fine man that is still Ben Frosst discovers the term ‘handicapped’ is only a starting point from which to find new ways to give and to help. That service comes in many forms. And, with enough love and support, anything is possible.
Sometimes, life simply doesn’t turn out the way you plan. And that’s just fine.
About the Book:
Book Description:
Kris Kringle is often in trouble for his beliefs. But in a world where elves are slaves, he is determined to make things right, even if it means standing alone. With the help of his friend Rebecca, Kris starts with the children. But can a pile of gifts on Christmas Eve really change anything?
Told from Rebecca’s perspective, Kris Kringle’s Magic is the story of a boy who devotes his life to the service of the poor, hungry, and destitute—and by doing so, becomes the legend of Santa Claus. This instant holiday classic is sure to captivate kids of all ages.
My Review:
This is a PERFECT book to curl up with in front of the fireplace...losing oneself in a beautiful telling of the Kris Kringle story...IT IS SO GOOD!
Kris finds himself in a town that uses elves as slaves...He also find a new friend in Rebecca...
Told from the perspective of Rebecca, she recounts how Kris stood up for the elves and with their help started giving gifts for Christmas
Once you read this you will never think of Kris Kringle or the elves the same again...for they have found the MAGIC of PERFECT LOVE :)
This is a book you will want to read...and then share with someone special.
